Dan Zohorsky, Director – Corporate Development, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield – Healthworx
Dan Zohorsky is a Director at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and leads acquisition and partnership initiatives within Healthworx, the corporate venture and corporate development arm of CareFirst. Dan and the Healthworx team engage with companies across the healthcare ecosystem both within the CareFirst communities of Maryland, Washington DC, and northern Virginia and across the country. Healthworx is currently building a portfolio of investments and evaluating strategic acquisitions and partnerships with companies that address the needs of CareFirst and its members today and whose solutions have the potential to make a substantial impact in healthcare three to five years down the road.
Prior to joining Healthworx, Dan was a Strategy Director in Anthem’s Diversified Business Group (DVB), responsible for the development of M&A and partnership strategy. Prior to Anthem, Dan worked in a corporate development role at W.R. Grace and in investment banking with SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. Dan has extensive experience evaluating and negotiating acquisitions, joint venture and other strategic transactions across multiple industries.
Dan graduated from University of Maryland (BA) and Georgetown University (MBA). He lives in Baltimore with his wife and three children.
Eric Victory, VP- Biopharmaceuticals Business Development, AstraZeneca
Eric Victory is VP, Biopharmaceuticals Business Development for AstraZeneca, based in Gaithersburg, MD. He has held a variety of business development roles within AstraZeneca and MedImmune since 2006, including responsibility covering the company’s infectious disease and cardiovascular, renal, and metabolism therapeutic areas. Eric also managed the company’s US Government pandemic flu contracting, and was initially a part of the MedImmune commercial team. Prior to his time with MedImmune and AstraZeneca, Eric was a commissioned officer in the US Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program. He holds bachelors degrees from Stanford University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

David LaMacchia has over 17 years’ healthcare transactional, investing, and operational experience. Prior to joining NaviMed Capital, LaMacchia led M&A transactions in the physician services sector at Prospira PainCare, a national provider of interventional pain management services, and U.S. Anesthesia Partners, a national anesthesia services practice.
Navid Farzad, Partner, Frist Cressey Ventures
Prior to joining Frist Cressey Ventures, Navid Farzad was a partner with Morgan Noble, an investment firm exclusively focused on partnering with companies that are determined to transform the delivery of healthcare. Farzad also served as the Chief Strategy Officer of Continuum Health, a physician enablement company providing practice management and population health services to medical groups.
