The award, which is voted on by a global network of expert M&A professionals, advisors and industry insiders, celebrates excellence in all areas of M&A, recognizes firms and individuals who often operate behind the scenes, but whose tireless efforts and unrivalled expertise have contributed to the dramatic increase in global M&A activity over the past year. The awards are handed out solely on merit and awarded to only those most deserving for their outstanding work over the past 12 months.
“We are honored to be recognized for this outstanding award for the second year in a row,” says Michael Nall, Founder of AM&AA. “This award recognizes the extraordinary efforts of our 1,000 Member organization and I am thrilled that through this award, we can continue to shine a light on the private middle market and its importance in the global economy.”

The AM&AA continues to grow while promoting and supporting M&A deal making in the lower middle market. The AM&AA has partnered with BKD to further promote deal making through the Thought Leader of the Year award. Nominations are currently open for the2015 Thought Leader of the Year Award which will be presented at the 2016 Winter Conference, January 13th-15th in Orlando, Florida.
In 2014, the AM&AA named Dr. J. Keith Dunbar, Founder and CEO of Potentious as Thought Leader of the Year. Dr. J. Keith Dunbar won the honorary award for his groundbreaking dissertation research which found for the first time, a quantifiable correlation between the collective leadership capabilities of acquirer and target companies and the particular deal’s financial success (or potential risk aversion).
