Scott Yoder, CEPA, CMAA, CPA (inactive) – Mr. Yoder is Founder and Managing Director of Freedom Exit Advisors, an advisory firm headquartered in Short Hills, New Jersey that specializes in strategic succession and exit planning (Option Planning) for business owners.  In this role, he collaborates with owners and their advisors to develop and implement strategies designed to accomplish ownership goals, increase business value, maximize the after-tax proceeds of a transition, and achieve financial security.

Prior to creating Freedom, Mr. Yoder spent 20 years developing his business leadership and management expertise by serving owners of middle market companies as their Chief Financial Officer.   For a significant portion of his career, he successfully handled turnaround and financial restructuring work for companies ranging in size from $6mm to $115mm (revenues) across various industry sectors.  Mr. Yoder’s primary areas of expertise include business valuation, mergers and acquisitions, developing and implementing strategic business plans, team building, revenue enhancement strategies, right-sizing, cost cutting, structuring and financing.

After observing his father’s business exit in 2007, Mr. Yoder realized most business owners don’t have access to the objective and specialized resources and aren’t using a comprehensive and collaborative approach essential when planning and executing their exit.  Consequently, business owners are skipping a critical step in the exit process and by doing so are leaving significant wealth on the table with the vast majority of owners reporting post-exit remorse.  Freedom Exit Advisors was designed to fill this real and rapidly growing need and offers owners, their families, and their companies an informed, organized and financially rewarding exit on their terms.
