Start: Jul 20 2010 - 1:00pm
End: Jul 20 2010 - 4:00pm

End: Jul 20 2010 - 4:00pm
Online PR News – 03-May-2010 – Robert T. Slee, author of Private Capital Markets, the first book of its kind dedicated to explaining the behavior of players in private markets will provide an illuminating update on Private Capital Markets at the AM&AA Summer Conference in Chicago on July 20 from 1-4 PM at the Chicago Hilton.
Slee’s presentation will describe the results of the Pepperdine Private Capital Markets project that he architected in early 2009. Slee and others spent the past 18 months creating and then implementing the three largest surveys ever of the U.S. private capital markets. Slee partnered with Pepperdine University in 2009/2010 to survey banks, asset-based lenders, mezzanine, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, business owners and other capital providers.
According to Slee, “The surveys provide first-ever empirical evidence of the investing behavior of institutional private capital providers. Specifically, we finally understand cost of capital for private companies, which is important because companies do not create value until they achieve returns on capital greater than their cost of capital. Slee claims that 80% of private companies are not creating value, which greatly threatens the U.S. economy going forward”.
