Kenneth Brown
Mr. Brown is a Managing Director of The Abaxas Group; a firm that serves owners and advisors of privately-held companies with sale, divestiture, valuation, capital formation, and strategic M&A advisory services. He is a member of Abaxas Group’s Board of Directors and leads the firm’s mergers & acquisitions related practices.
Mr. Brown has over 15 years of investment banking and business experience including deal structuring, securitization, financing and valuation. He has been involved in over $1.5 billion of transactions while working in the Global Corporate Investment Banking division of Banc of Americas Securities. In addition to his transactional expertise, Mr. Brown has advised companies, investor groups and government entities on asset-based investment opportunities and risk management strategies.
Prior to Wall Street, Mr. Brown was an innovator and entrepreneur in the software industry. He was instrumental to the success of two startup software companies that were eventually sold at a significant premium. He performed various roles including product development, sales, strategic planning, business development, and capital-raising.
Mr. Brown earned an MBA degree from Harvard University, MS degrees in both physics and electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a BS degree in physics from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Mr. Brown is a Certified M&A Advisor (CM&AA). He holds a California Real Estate Broker license and is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 7 and 63). He is also a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).
