BACKGROUND HIGHLIGHTS:In 1976, at the age of 12, Todd began his career working in his family business. The company, Sound of Music, Ltd, provided satellite communication services to businesses across the country. Todd worked his way to VP of Sales and Marketing and played a key role in generating over $1.1 million in EBITDA for the company. The company customer base was sold to Muzak Corporation twenty two years later for over 8X multiple of EBITDA. Todd was directly involved in Muzak’s acquisition of this successful family business. Through that experience, Todd gained an interest in the brokerage industry and it was then that EBIT Associates, Ltd. was formed. Todd is an entertaining and sought after public speaker, giving presentations and seminars on the benefits of having broker representation when it comes time to buy or sell a business. He has also written several articles on the importance of broker representation. BACKGROUND HIGHLIGHTS:Under leadership, Sound of Music became the largest 3M Sound Products Franchise out of 85 franchisees nationwide (1991), consistently achieving up to 120% of 3M's sales quotas.· Since 1988, company continued to achieve a 12% to 20% increase in annual gross revenue. Achieved #36 out of 213 salespeople nationwide Muzak's Circle of Excellence Sales Incentive Program (1998), while concurrently managing employees and overseeing opening of new office in Milwaukee market. Personally sold and serviced key accounts, including Arby's (40 locations), White Castle (50), McDonald's (60), Dominick's (117) and Wendy's (125).
Played a significant role in securing True Value account; coordinated complete hardware and software installations in 2,200 stores nationwide. Instrumental in capturing Sears account which built to 1,100 stores nationwide in three years. Arranged for Jim Lovell's (Apollo 13 Astronaut) appearance at major promotional event located in Dallas, Texas (1998). Built new affiliate franchise for Digital Music Express (DMX), a division of TCI Cable; achieved 250+ accounts within two years. Established and assigned sales territories; developed and implemented sales training program and sales prospecting system; determined commission structures. Coordinated with MIS in creating customized laptop software for in-field sales presentations. Developed, wrote and established company policies for order processing, shipping & receiving, accounting, bookkeeping and collections. Established hiring procedures, performance evaluation structure and telephone screening process for prospective employees, and interview questions for sales, service and administrative staff. Created and developed company literature, brochures and marketing communications. Wrote and published product user's manual for company employees. Perfected intricate call routing network of company's inbound 800 number, assuring "seamless" customer service and support. Coordinated with MIS in configuring hardware and software programs for all products.
