Large tech companies here in the valley may be in danger of losing the innovation game to smaller, more nimble and well funded startups due to flaws in their approaches to project investment and management. By reversing the order of analysis beginning with the customer, rather than the technology, and by increasing their risk tolerance, some of these companies may be able to change the culture to better compete in the years ahead.
